I will mention that what little research I did in the past indicates that the beer part tends to be the "secondary ingredient" of the two with much focus on methods and recipes for ingesting the "first ingredient" taking priority - not so much home brewers wanting to add it into their beer.

Let's all be friends now.

I only made the comment about the stuff in jest. Then you get jumped on. I didn't even know the stuff existed. Wish I hadn't bothered

Forum's gone to pieces! For a bunch of drinkers, things had been quite sensible, until now there hadn't been a sniff of a tubby cock.

One of my books does have a recipe for an ale with spruce tips, though only about half the Christmas trees out there are Spruce and many are actually plastic. Funny, I did make a beer recently that tasted strongly of plastic :hmm:

Bob made a bacon beer last year and took it to TST IIRC.

A fine beer may be judged with only one sip, but it's better to be thoroughly sure.

ive seen the rules thanks but I still think its ridiculous regarding a post involving the unspeakable. Just a bit overboard about the whole thing in my opinion.

There's a big difference between; 'Cannabis beer exists' and 'GUYS, help me make a cannabis beer'. Hopefully we can all be mature enough to manage to understand the difference without overzealous moderation at the word.

I recently noticed that a local spirit is occasionally flavoured with pine needles in the bottle and thought it might be good in beer too. Just wondering if any old pine tree needles will do or are there some particularly good ones? Also are they better used in the boil or as a dry hop?

I made a Bacon Beer and put it in the competition at TST. The judges said it was meaty. I made it as a stout/porter type ale with 4 rashers of bacon in 1 gallon. Came out nice in my view and the others that tasted it said so too. It was a bit of a faf cutting all the fat off it, but it worked. Recipe is below if you fancy it.

Made to 5lt

0.26 Items Whirlfloc Tablet (Boil 15.0 mins) Fining 6
20.00 g Fuggles [4.50 %] - Boil 60.0 min Hop 5 35.8 IBUs
1.0 pkg SafAle English Ale (DCL/Fermentis #S-04) [23.66 ml]
0.20 kg Black (Patent) Malt (985.0 EBC)
0.20 kg Caramel/Crystal Malt - 30L (59.1 EBC)
0.20 kg Wheat Malt, Bel (3.9 EBC)
0.75 kg Pale Malt (2 Row) UK (5.9 EBC)
4 Rashers smoked bacon added to boil.

My concern was the fat content, but trimming the bacon seemed to cure it. I had a nice head.

I know the rules I used to be a moderator myself I think that you and the others have not taken my post as lightly as I posted it. Its a shame when a bit of humour can be taken as serious as it has.

It didn't come across as humour mark, and in any case you asked a direct question solisiting answers from forum members who to may not have seen your post as humour.

I cant see a direct question in my post surprised no ones thought of c******* beer is not a question. It seems weird that on topos there were several posts about that type of beer and no consequences. You were moderating at the time. How come you never did anything then?
