CO2 supplies

Postby Pakman » Mon Sep 03, 2018 16:48

OK folks, I've got myself some cornies and will soon be needing a supply of CO2 (I'm busy using up 3 'old' type Sodastream bottles at present)
I want to bottle from the kegs as well as store beer in them for bulk dispensing. I've found out that counter pressure bottling uses quite a lot of CO2 so what is best for moving forward.
Should I go 6.25Kg and if so, where is best to get one from?
Should I go 'new' Sodastream as it's a larger bottle than 'old'?
Should I use easily available S30 bottles?
Answers on a postcard or forum reply gratefully received. :notworthy:

Hmm, are you sure? When a brew is ready I keg some and bottle some*. No extra kit or gas needed.

If you put your true location in you profile, there might be a local supplier someone knows about.

* fermenting fridge died a few months ago so when my kegorator is on fermenting duty I drink from the previous brew's bottles from the kitchen fridge! If I run out of cold beer I fall back on buying beer from Tesco :D

My future plans include not much
