I bought a bigger boiler off someone a while ago and the sight glass which measures how much water is in the boiler leaks slightly from where the elbow joint joins to the perspex tube.
Would the silicone sealant which you use in the bathroom be the best way to seal it up again?

Could you wrap some ptfe tape around the joint and push it into the seal?
I enjoy a glass of wine each night for its health benefits. The other glasses are for my witty comebacks and flawless dance moves.

It wasn't coming out easily, but it was wobbly. I could probably take it out if need be.

I used on mine. You might get away with dribbling some of this into the thread without removing the tube?
