AC DC Converter

Postby AFewTooMany » Thu Feb 21, 2019 17:40

Afternoon,

Instead of getting several 12V PSUs for my pumps I wanted to build a mains converter into my HERMS control box with a connection for each pump. Wanted to know if anyone has tried using the LED drivers available on eBay to run pumps? Any stupid reason why they wouldn't be suitabe?

For example https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AC-to-DC-12V-LED-Driver-Power-Supply-Transformer-240V-UK-Stock/162830271380?hash=item25e970c394:m:m3n85wjNdNK-9b2-UJMJRtw&var=461867790395

If not any suggestions for a converter which could be easily mounted inside a project box would be great

Work is the curse of the drinking classes

I use a power supply removed from an old tower computer. Hefty 12v supply (100w?) And several other voltages as well... Inc 24v for my more powerful pump that pushes the wort through my counterflow cooler.

i tried that b2b but it failed
looked it up on the internet and did the conversion got it all working but when i put it back into the case it stopped working and i was never able to diagnose why
If i could have gotten another power supply i would of started again
