Cracking build. Ultimate brewing porn :notworthy:

Those 3way ss valves look good, bet they weren't cheap.
I looked a few years ago when building my system and frowned away by the cost.

Valves were 14 quid each from China.

I don't know anything about plumbing or electronics so I might be totally wrong, but why not put the pumps and valves a little higher? I've been lucky enough to use a Brewmagic on a few occasions which is a similar size system with RIMs etc. and the pipework is all right below the level of the HLT and MT, so all valves are at arms reach.

Thanks.

2 reasons, it was easy to mount the pumps and it gives more head pressure. Not saying they're in the most ideal place but it made sense to me at the time for those reasons.

Cheers.

Very neat

A fine beer may be judged with only one sip, but it's better to be thoroughly sure.

Looking very nice . I would be struggling with all those wires , looks a nightmare to do , will you need a special supply from a new fuse board ? Hope it all goes well for you .

Did you know about wiring etc before you started the build or are you just an extremely gifted amateur sparky?
I am contemplating a big control panel like that but haven't really got a clue where to start!

@Deth - I flirt with it from time to time...

@Pitsy - I have pulled in a new 50A supply to the garage.

Ok, wish I just bought a Braumeister!

I'll have chance to finish the panel so the engraving is ready, I'll be drilling the door this week hopefully.

What a great setup! I admire your skills, well done! I was pleased I'd managed to wire up my STC1000 using an old fridge! What are your plans for fermenting? Will you have a brew fridge or similar?

It's a hot water supply from the new hot water tank in the garage.

Image

In the summer it's heated from this magic box of tricks that diverts excess solar power into the tank. On a bright day the tank is up to 85decC before lunch.

Image

So if start brewing late morning i can use the free preheated water then run the brewery off the panels. Should be a 'green' brew.

I too am in awe.. grand job .. should make your brewing a complete pleasure,

However it might be worth sticking a splash proof screen beside the control box what with that tap sat right next to it, you only need to contain a small amount of pressure in a connected hose to cause sprayback when disconnecting..

Thanks PhatFil, I will look at bending a sheet up when I get back to work.

I've been off since the 8th so full steam ahead!

Pipework nipped up, more cables in, pumps fixed, flow and return on the heat exchanger completed and started to trouble shoot a few gremlins in the control panel.

Lee. Very well done . I really like this build. Well thought out and executed! I am about to embark on a similar build and am just building the control panel.
Just a quick question on cleaning please? What will be your cleaning sequence? Is it designed to leave all pipework connected, or will you have to break any thread on the compression fittings from time to time?

Thanks
