Liquoring back - bottled water?

Afternoon All.

I'm going to have to add 3 liters of water before I bottle , I messed up my volumes.

I bought a new bottle of Ashbeck to make up StarSan but I think I'll use water out of it to make up my volume.

The bottle is unopened so do I need to boil and cool the water before I add it?

I think it's pretty much sterile or it would have grown "stuff" whilst on Tesco's shelf. If I boil n cool there is still a risk of contamination just from the kitchen and environment that I avoid using it from the bottle.

They're pretty darn sterile in the bottles. Go for it!

Guinness brew all their beer to a high percentage, i.e.foreign extra, and then dilute it to produce standard Guinness. Post fermentation they use sterile de aerated water

A lot of breweries liquor back pre fermentation, my local included. The issue is oxidisation after fermentation

Plus a "mineral" taste you can pick up, proper mixing, etc. The only advice I would offer is that up until the boil stage you don't need to be that careful. When the wort hits the fermenter I am very hesitant about adding anything to your beer, and if there's any doubt there, rectify it. Thus, I would boil it. It's probably fine, but unless you're 100%, is it worth losing a beer for 5 minutes work?

I always use Ashbeck water straight from the bottle to liquor back, and have never had any problems.

Asbecks profile is quite soft would adding that make a difference to say a dark beer?

Not if you are adding post boil or post fermentation I would have thought.
