Best Nelson Sauvin recipes

Ordered 100g of Nelson Sauvin the other day and looking to find out how some of you have used them in the past?

Was considering a SMASH with MO and maybe a saison, but open to any tried and tested recipes/suggestions.

I'd be surprised if there wasn't one in DIY Dog. Otherwise a smash would be great, it's a wonderful aroma hop.

Wyeast 1056 - American Ale™

Nelson is an amazing hop in the correct proportions. Too much and the beer will start to taste like onions and garlic.

MALT
pale 6.38kg 14.04lb
Crystal 150 0.13kg 0.28lb
Caramalt 0.25kg 0.55lb

ABV IBU OG 7.5% 75 1068

HOPS
Nelson Sauvin 37.5 Start Bitter
Nelson Sauvin 50 End Flavour

Seems a bit of a waste using it for bittering , I know it wouldn't be a SMASH but I'd save it for later additions.

Was thinking the same. Had a superb Nelson Sauvin Pale a while back and no way would I waste all that expensive flavour on bittering. I would use a cheap and clean bittering hop, currently I have a stock of Herkules for that task.

That is 75 IBUs, You may find that too much for your tastes so calculate to your own preference.

Any exposure to heat (including that weird 80c and below steep rumour) will break down myrcene too, which is really what you want to retain with this hop. In short, heavy dry hop!

I'd chuck it in as your switch off your boiler and start cooling
