Another in the Brewing Elements Series along with Yeast and Water (guess what's next). I enjoyed this book as it covers the broad subject of hops from the different perspectives of breeders, farmers, processors, brewers and consumers. It is not a how to brew with hops guide, but a deeper understanding of one of the main ingredients of beer should improve your brewing.

"To all those who have been scratched by the hops"

Chapter 1 covers aroma and oils, chapters 2 & 3 explore history, lore and where things are today, chapters 4 & 5 describe farming, harvesting and processing, chapter 6 discusses the forms of hops together with a description of varieties, chapters 7, 8 & 9 cover brewing, chemistry, dry hopping and quality issues, chapter 10 has 15 recipes from breweries around the world, together with a "how to" for making experimental batches to compare different hops, and lastly there is an extensive bibliography.

11.55 on spamazon at the moment.

This looks more interesting than Yeast which is a bit hardcore for me using dry yeasts.

Anybody know when a malt one is due, or who's writing it?
