Carlsberg Citrus

Postby BrotherMalice » Sat Apr 30, 2016 14:23

Hi Guys,

Against my better judgement I have been asked if I can brew something similar to Carlsberg Citrus, I have just been given a Coopers Lager kit (I rarely drink Lager...) and was wondering if I could use that as the base? I also have an older (over a year old) can of the Wilko Cervsa (sp?) which I was thinking I could add to the brew instead of brewing sugar? - Would this work and if so what else would I need to add to make it more citrusey? (lime specifically)

I was sure I had asked this before but cannot find the thread so it may have been posted somewhere else?

Cheers
Colin

Cheers,
Colin

Just p*ss in it that should give you about the right taste.

Joking aside why not dry hop it with some c hops.

Go get some lime juice, when you pour a bottle of lager add juice.

This! You can still have ordinary lager that way :)

Will it be ok to use both tins rather than add the sugar? - Needs to be a fairly low alcohol brew...

It's going to be twice as bitter by using two one can tins.. so it's not going to taste like the lager your after anyway.

I would brew it as is and add lime cordial, if you are trying to emulate carlshite. As said above if you use two cans then the bitterness would be double and certainly not like carlshite which probably only had a sniff of hop.

You can reduce the amount of sugar if you want it in the area of a "radler." The body and bitterness will stay more or less the same, just reduces the abv.
