A local brewery in Edinburgh (Pilot) has a beer filled with Parma Violets
and it was pretty damn amazing. Given that it'll be a while before I'm brewing again I think it could be fun to try and think up some crazy ingredients and things to brew that just might work.
I've been quite conservative in my brewing so far and primarily working on getting the basics right before I start experimenting. My first, rather tame, attempt was a blond ale with dried elderflowers and orange zest, although that was a bit underwhelming flavour wise.
I see a recent Brewdog beer had bacon in it...
Have any of you experimented with unorthodox ingredients or have anything you think it could be fun to try?
