Going to brew a nice copper coloured beer with it, was going to do the same brew as I did last month but after checking I haven't got all the ingredients to duplicate it with No3 invert instead of golden syrup.

Excellent- glad to hear you're all getting your packages. The wife did comment that it looked suspicious, but alas it is boringly harmless brewing sugar.

mmm tastes just like the syrup i made so that's a good start. sod brewing, ima melt some of this down and make pancakes!

well, actually i'm just sparking up the kettle for my first brew in moooooonths so it was great timing and it'd be rude not too..

roughly 85-15 pale to invert, aiming for bout 1,045, bout 50 ibus with half oz challenger late

been a while, kinda just setting in action and waiting to see what i f up today..

Bet it would make very nice pancakes too.

You're bold going for 15% sugar. Are you mashing higher or using a less attenuative yeast so you don't end up with a thin beer?

well i know it goes great on ice cream!!

i've been in the middle of a series of experiments trying to hone my bitter recipes, so going for my usual targets to fairly compare the invert. not worried bout thin beer to be honest at 1,045. mashing 67c, wlp007, chloride favoured water. usually ends up reasonably sweet and malty with that.

did your brew go well?

..turns out it was the late hops i forgot!

still, 40bus, so just maybe more of a mild than a keeping ale. may well get a dryhop now instead..

Yes, my brew was one of my best yet. Hit targets bang on.

Day 13 in FV and it's attenuated more than I'd expected. Brewers Friend predicted FG of 1.013, but I've got more like 1.006

It tastes great and good mouthfeel despite quite a low FG. The difference in taste between the two yeasts was surprisingly noticeable.

Early days to say what the invert sugar adds, but certainly gives more attenuation than I'd planned for.

The only times I've had the yeast blow over was when using half-full demijohns, and also using Whitelabs German Lager yeast in a 25L batch (that's one lively yeast).
