Ported over from that well known forum, did this one a while ago now when i had my original kit :)

decided to another Holly Ale, got the 1st one cyclopsed which i will post up the results very soon.

This recipe goes like this
5Kg Maris Otter
200g Crystal Malt
Mash Temp 66C

I got 31 litres of wort and a gravity of 1047 pre-boil. I batch sparged and the wort coming out was 1018 when i stopped.

To go in the boiler is
45g EKG (90 minute boil)
25g EKG (30 minute boil)
49g Styrian Goldings (Steep 20 minutes at 80C)

1st problem is that the element in my boiler packed in 5 minutes into the boil, lol
Only running on 1 element now not 2


Turns out what i had in the freezer wasn't Styrian is was EKG, so this is an all EKG recipe.

Got down to 1006 with Nottingham Yeast :)
