All grain - Harpoon IPA

Postby BigYin » Fri Apr 13, 2018 10:02

Well, it's a wet day at home - so I figure if life gives you rain, make beer!

I'm off work today as my kids are staying with me just now, but the rain's on, and the two oldest are studying for exams anyway, so may as well make use of the time and get another brew going :drink:

Brewing a 'Harpoon IPA' from the Clone Brews book, scaled to just under 13kg of grain.

OG came in at 1.060 - 2 points shy of the target of 1.062, but I'll not worry over much about that ;)

Great to see a brew day, too :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
Keep it up :hat: :hat:

Cheers,
Jon.

 Yep!

It's Nottingham yeast - I bought a 500g bag of it as that's much more cost efficient for dried yeast in large volumes - I'm pitching 50g for that big fermenter - re-activate the dried yeast with warm water and a little dissolved sugar to lessen the osmotic shock of rehydration and give it a wee bit of breakfast
