I've fancied doing a historic recipe for a while and this one caught my eye from Ron Pattinson's blog. I've gotten slightly obsessed with invert sugar over the past few weeks and this one uses a good glugg of the stuff. It took me three attempts to make the invert sugar without it burning, but I got there in the end. Brew day is tomorrow - got everything set up and ready to go... water treated and gassing-off overnight, plus malts weighed out with salts added.

FG 1.008
26 IBU
3.8% ABV
19L to FV

1.5kg propino
1kg mild malt
95g crystal 60L
295g flaked barley
195g invert #3

90 min mash @ 66C
90 min boil

20g EKG @ 90 min
15g Fuggle @ 30 min
12g EKG dry hop

Nottingham yeast @ 19C

Also got around 500g of various leftover bread I'll be toasting and adding to the mash. Not enough to really make much difference, but doing it just because I have it to use.

The flaked barely is an interesting addition, so I'll be curious to see how that affects things. Just a small amount of crystal too - I'm leaning towards much less crystal malt at the minute, so this recipe ticked that box for me.
