First brew of 2018 - Cotleigh Barn Owl

Back on the brewing horse after a 3 month break 8-)

The snow is finally melting away and high time I got brewing :)

12 Kilos of grain - looking for around 60 litre FV

Only 100g of Admiral despite the volume - not a terribly bitter ale

I'm batch sparging nowadays - used to always use fly sparging, but felt sacrilegious to butcher the lid of the lovely thermo pot :lol:

Steam deflector doing its job

Hose city - chiller running and hoses for transferring to the fermenter are sanitised and ready for action

And after a small delay while I had to reinstall the BrewPi software, I now have lots of beer tucked up in the fermenter :D

No photos come up for me however enjoy this one, it’s a great beer one of my faves.

A good beer and nice to see someone else posting a brew day. It's been very quiet.
