WLP644 Sacc Brux Trois Anyone?

Postby StevieDS » Sun Feb 05, 2017 15:32

I'd like to give this yeast a try in an APA type beer soon but rather than paying £5 delivery just for a vial of yeast (I just had a big order and foolishly forgot to add this) I'd love to do a bottle swap if anyone has used this so I can culture the yeast from the bottle?

Afraid I can't help you, but a geezer on another forum created a genuine Conan x WLP644 hybrid that might do an even better job on an IPA.

If you can culture the stuff up, then maybe this could be an even better option.

Google Conan x WLP644

Good shout there (I think this is the thread here). It sounds interesting and he had a fresh batch available about 4 weeks ago so I sent an email to see if he had any left.

Well just to update this, I got an email from the bloke a few days ago saying he is ready to ship the next batch of this to those interested, €6 including shipping from Finland which isn't too bad but it's only a 2ml centrifuge tube so it requires some culturing to get a pitchable amount.

Looking forward to trying this in version 3 of my NEIPA.
