Discounted S/S camlock couplings

Postby Calvin » Sat Jun 28, 2014 15:54

Hi all,

Intrico Products have just launched a new website.

As part of this exercise, we have managed to negotiate new prices with some of our suppliers. Included in these products are 1/2" and 3/4" S/S camlock fittings.
This is partly due to orders from members of this forum. We thought it only right to pass these savings on!

Email or call, mention this website and these will be the prices paid -

1/2" Part A - £1.62 each net
1/2" Part B - £4.34 each net
1/2" Part C - £3.10 each net
1/2" Part D - £3.92 each net
1/2" Part E - £2.64 each net
1/2" Part F - £1.80 each net
1/2" Part DC - £2.86 each net
1/2" Part DP - £1.35 each net

3/4" Part A - £2.17 each net
3/4" Part B - £4.52 each net
3/4" Part C - £4.41 each net
3/4" Part D - £4.15 each net
3/4" Part E - £2.64 each net
3/4" Part F - £2.64 each net
3/4" Part DC - £3.99 each net
3/4" Part DP - £1.91 each net

Carriage is extra and will depend on weight but orders up to 5 Kgs will be £10.00
VAT is extra.

I hope that these prices are of interest. I will try to keep them fixed for at least a couple of months.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Calvin

This thread had been locked for some strange reason, but open again now. Forum gremlins munching in the background. I must get some of your camlocks ordered, as I will have need of a few more fairly soon.

Perhaps this is a Daft Question, But would a 1/2" Stainless steel camlock male/female from this source mate correctly with a stainless steel camlock fitting sourced elsewhere, I ask as i took a punt on some 1/2" PP camlocks for a test and they are no where near compatible with 1/2" SS ones i use already use.

i took a punt on the PP camlocks with an 80C temp limit for the hlt/tun into the kettle liquor transport, hoping i could save ££s on h/w reserving the SS jobs for the boil and cold side where hi temps and hi sanitation is needed. ho hum...

I have had miss match problem with cam locks, gone back to hose and clips, but will be moving towards the poor mans option, with olives. :)
Perhaps Calvin could let us know which standard / specification these are manufactured to. :D

I've not encountered a mis match and I've had two lots from intrico and my last lot from HBB were wide bore C type along with some B's Es and dust plugs/caps. All fit together and play nicely

please note:The use of punctuation, bold, underlining, italics, and different sized type, follows the convention used in writing, for many years, to place emphasis on the point being made, and to highlight the importance of that point in the opinion of the author. It is not the intention of the author to shout, if that was the case the author would adopt the, much more recent, convention of using all capital letters.

That's reassuring to know. My others came from HBB as well, so if they fit together that's great.

Camlocks are manufactured to a very old US military specification MIL-C-27487F. Nothing is specified except the amount that the gasket is compressed. How this is achieved is down to individual manufacturers.

However, most camlock fittings are now manufactured in China (no surprise there) and over the years the manufacturers have come to a generally accepted set of dimensions and tolerances.
These dimensions are relatively easy to maintain for metallic couplings but much harder (and more expensive) to get right on PP couplings. Therefore PP couplings cannot be guaranteed to interchange with metallic items. Nor can you guarantee them fitting if sourced from different manufacturers.

Hope this clarifies.

Just received a job lot of camlocks, stainless 90's and a valve.
All top quality and a great price and better than those I got from a US based HB shop.
