Mixed berry wine

Postby krazypara3165 » Wed Oct 15, 2014 12:53

As per some of my other threads I will be getting some wines on the go this weekend (3 DJ's in total)

There will be my royal elderberry red wine, Plum wine and finally I am thinking of a Mixed berry wine.

Does this sound OK?

1KG Blackberries
500G Of Raspberies and/or Strawberries
150G Blueberries
30G Redcurrants (just because I have some left over)

I will need to calculate how much sugar I'll need but does this sound ok?

More fruit can be added if needed.

Kegged:
Simecoe APA (HBF Donation)

Bottled:
Galaxy Pale Ale, Woodfordes Wherry, Bella Brew Pale Ale, Strawberry and vanilla Pale Ale, Mixed fruits cider, Elderflower and grapefruit fizz.

Maturing:
Rhubarb Wine, WOW rose', Elderberry wine, Mixed berries wine, Elderflower and grapefruit wine, Elderberry wine.

Next Up:
German Pilsner, Guinness Clone, Chateau De Roi selection kit, Strawberry and lime cider.

Sounds good to me, apart from the strawberries, they are a waste of time and money.

Simple enough, consider them scrapped. Appreciate the assistance! :)

I like a straight strawberry wine, do some every year, but I dunno they'd add much to a berry mix. And they're a bugger for pulp.

With berries I generally count the sugar in them as almost negligible and do about 1.1kg of granulated. 1kg would be enough though

I got one with strawberries, cherries and blueberries in. You can smell the strawberries in the bouquet :)

On their own, and if they have been reduced to clear, then fair enough.

Added to something else with delicate flavours - possibly.

Added to something dominant like blackberries - no.
