Those monkeys look like trouble - I have heard they can be controlled with chocolate

22 litres from that lot. 1.040 gravity.

Going to do a gallon of each tree as they're quite different juices then blend all the rest in a big batch.

So in the end I campden tableted the juice then took a gallon of each to a demijohn and blended the rest. A total of 38 litres.

I added tannin but not as much as I'd add to supermarket juice, it was around 1tsp to 3 gallons in the end.

No pectolase, I want it cloudy.

No nutrient, there will either be enough in the juice or the yeast will crap out early and not go totally dry. Either way is good...

Pitched two packs of Gervin GV13 Cider yeast and its off and picking up pace 24 hours later.

So far, so good. :thumb:

Fermentation has really picked up and it's escaped from the big bucket and nearly one of the demis...

And that's out in the cool of my "cellar" too. It all seems to be going the right way. Fingers remain crossed...

Your apples are ready early, I reckon we've got a few weeks to go yet!
Great pics by the way.

Planning - An imperial barley wine
Brewing - Nowt
Conditioning - Plum port (and it'll be conditioning for another 9 years or so)
Drinking - many different beers, and plenty of whisky.

You will have about that to go up there right enough.

Down here it was still a bit early but they were good and sweet, even though they were cookers!

great pics, good process in place. Nicely secured equipment!
Cider monkeys allways a good idea for jobs that can get a bit tedious, fetching apples, getting wet washing the apples, picking the apples, etc, etc.
good idea to do a DJ of each, and the rest blended, it should give you three different ciders.

Global average carbon emissions - one ton per person per year.
Current emissions in UK – 9 tons per person per year!
Eight million tons of plastic dumped into the oceans. Every year!
