Crap caps?

Postby Bluezephyr » Sun Apr 13, 2014 14:01

I ran out of caps recently and picked some up at a shop that has a small section of homebrew equipment.

I've never had a problem with carbonation before, just opened another bottle and it had slightly more fizz than the last. Could it be crap caps? I have 22 litres to bottle in a weeks time and I'd rather bung them and buy some new if there's any chance they're to blame.

Never had a problem with my caps and I have had them from various sources. But the problem may be your capper rather than the caps. What sort do you use?

It's an Emily crown capper. Never had any problems with it before and it looks like the caps have been crimped properly.
