Refurbishing pressure barrels

We have several pressure barrels left over from festivals that cider makers sent us. They're not going to be collected (clearly) so I wondered about refurbishing them for personal use (or even bar use if we serve a cider from them.)

I put some left over beer in one before after a thorough antiformin s wash (caustic and chlorine solution) but it quickly turned cidery.

If I replace the lids, seals and taps, are they likely to be OK or will the leftover cider be firmly in the plastic now?

Any suggestions for cleaning?
