Mag pump connections

Postby boab44stout » Wed Dec 30, 2015 22:37

Hello I will be hoping to get a new pump soon and was wandering wether to use camlock or quick disconnect I use camlocks but was thinking the disconnects might give a better airtight seal as camocks can be a bit iffy. Anyone here got advice

I've never known a camlock to be iffy if the thread is sealed correctly and the washer is OK. Disconnects will leak after time as the seals and ball clips wear. I like the simple ruggedness of camlocks with no internal moving parts.

Are we talking ss camlocks here? I had some awful aluminium ones with a cam on one side  Threw the whole lot away.
Wonder if the plastic ones are any good?

I've never had any problems with my ss camlocks. Assuming I seat them properly and engage the cam arms fully. I have noticed if you don't engage the arms equally then they can leak.
