GF the Side Effects,,

Postby aamcle » Wed Sep 13, 2017 21:31

3 batches in the I'm suffering from some vile side effects, I've just spent the balance of the afternoon boxing up all those precious parts I've planned and built over years.

    2 x control boxes.
    a bunch of PT100's.
    spare silicone tube.
    pumps.
    mesh screens.
    bag supports.
    Spare elements.
    The Biab brewery.
My tinkering days are over now I have a GF there's no need and all my lovely bits I so enjoyed planning and building are now redundant.
Oh well, the old eyes aren't too good for precision soldering any more but still I didn't like boxing my kit up...:(

At first I thought GF was Girlfriend and she was being a bit mean stopping you from brewing, I suddenly realised it was short for Grainfather, isn't it? :)

GF = Grainfather

I've boxed up so the kit does not become a selection of lost parts although it's not in use it colub be :)

There is satisfaction in brewing with kit you've built, my last build has a number of advantages over the GF but it sprung a leak in a hard to fix position. Then the dearly beloved suggested I buy a GF it's great, integrated, well put together and well thought through but lacks any "tinker factor".

I offered a complete recirculating Biab on the HBF, it seemed the most likely place, and had no interest so I'm keeping it.

The GF pain continues however, I'm clearing out the core of the BM clone I built and a malt pipe from a mini GF and finally Frankenmash the Breweasy/GF hybrid.

Then I have to chop out the plastics, a Mango drum a 60 litre blue drum, a couple of plastic water containers and maybe a beer crate or two.
