For next Christmas ---- 2016

Postby aamcle » Wed Oct 07, 2015 17:05

I've a nice Oatmeal Stout for this year but next year is as they say a whole new ball game.

So I'm looking for ideas to brew this year.
Stout again :( could do a Champagne Stout?
Barley wine, Bhhhnuu so that's a no.
    Belgium, double Bhhhnuu.

I like Bitters, Lager/Pilsner, some milds, IPA but not unbalanced hop monsters lots of types.

So what would be nice and benefit from long storage?

thanks all.

My Traquair house clone is a nice tipple at 9%. A proper Scottish ale with caramelised first running.

A fine beer may be judged with only one sip, but it's better to be thoroughly sure.

Mm. ,.....

If I do 1/2 size I could make more Oatmeal Stout ( I'm having trouble keeping "me boy 37" off this years) and the Traquair house, pop them into smaller bottles and there would still be a good number.

I found a recipe for TH in Clone Brews it makes no mention of caramelising anything just how important is it?
